Old vine Zinfandel planted in 1930 in the Cucamonga Valley. The vines are own rooted, head trained, dry farmed, and grown organically. The vineyard is interplanted with the heritage variety, Mission, and the blend includes approximately 10% Mission that was picked and co-fermented with the Zinfandel. This is an unabashedly classic California Zinfandel showing restrained power and concentration. Ruby colored in the glass with aromatics of spice, orange zest, and tea leaves. The palate is cherry fruit, and baking spices with a lingering and deceptively balanced finish. Aged 10 months in neutral oak. 28 cases produced.
