97% Cabernet Sauvignon + 3% Syrah. Inky black in the glass and explosively aromatic on the nose. Black plum, tea leaf, blueberry, firm tannins, and a long finish of coastal hillside herbs. In 2019 we had our pick of Cabernet blocks to harvest so we took our time and selected the absolute perfect row. Each berry was just starting to lose volume and was at that optimal point of ripeness with brown seeds, velvet skins, and just the right amount of acidity. This is a powerful, rich wine that manages to express both California sun and Santa Barbara County Cabernet Sauvignon aromatics.
