Each year our vineyard produces a little over half a ton of intensely powerful and structured cool-climate Grenache. It has become traditional that I watch the Grenache inch towards ripeness day by day until one evening in late October I get up from the dinner table, announce to the family that I'm going to pick, and then proceed to harvest the entire block by myself in the quiet of the night. It is an amazing evening and the wine somehow captures that magic each year. Dark cherry and spice complimented by fine grained tannin. Organically farmed, native fermentation, 20 months aging in neutral oak.
