The historic drought of 2021 reduced yields in vineyards throughout Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, creating tiny concentrated berries with the full flavor of beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon. We blended these together and produced 100% Cabernet Sauvignon for the first time in several years. The resulting wine shows classic Cabernet Sauvignon aromatics with herbal notes, hints of cocoa, and elderberry. On the palate it is loaded with smashed blackberry and mulberry fruit backed by firm tannins and balanced acidity. This coastal Cabernet Sauvignon is a return to the style that made California famous.
Charred wood, coffee bean, elderberry and pencil shaving aromas show on the nose of this wine. The palate is hearty and bold with ripe berries, oaky spices and solid tannins.
