Classic Ventura County Syrah aromatics of graphite, cedar, and white pepper with a palate loaded with dark brambly fruit and a lingering finish. Native fermentation with 25% stem inclusion. 10% Petite Sirah from the Santa Ynez Valley was blended in for balance and the wine was aged in 25% new American Oak barrels for 22 months before bottling without fining or filtering. Only 4 barrels produced.
The warm vintage worked well for Syrah in Ventura County. This bottling, which includes 3% Mourvèdre, offers soy sauce, purple flower, cracked pepper and dried dark-fruit aromas. The palate is viscous and rich yet savory and complex, offering soy, iodine, rosemary, baked black plum and caramel flavors.
